We are currently seeking a Workshop Manager to join a well-respected Global organisation, who pride themselves on being the largest independent provider of repair and maintenance services for turbo machinery, generators, motors, and pumps. A world leaders in their space, our client Sulzer, provides a wide range of engineered products supporting and servicing Tier 1 customers within the resources sector. A permanent role within a brand-new state of the are facility, this position will progress your career to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall operation of the workshop and support the team of trades and trade assistants.
  • Work closely with the State Manager and Rotating Equipment Workshop Manager.
  • Uphold long term customer commitments that have been established.
  • Quote and estimate jobs as requested.
  • Understand the flow in each department within the Service Centre.
  • Devise the master production schedule and work orders by holding regular work in progress meetings.
  • Ensure that all work scopes delivered on time and on budget.
  • Manage the costing of job folders on completion of work.
  • Ensure appropriate labour utilisation for jobs is reasonable.
  • Ensure that the Company QESH systems are adhered to in the Workshop.
  • Compilation of projects and customer reports as required.

The Person

We will consider all candidates who have come from an engineering/workshop environment and holds strong technical knowledge across Pumps. As a minimum Supervisory experience is essential, coupled with a personality who is passionate and committed to their career.

  • 2-4 years’ experience in supervisory position.
  • 5+ years’ experience with Electrical / Mechanical - Pump products – essential
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High level skills in time management.
  • Ability to engage and work with others.

Qualifications

  • Trade Qualification in Electrical / Mechanical or related discipline.
  • Current driver’s license – essential
  • Mandatory Forklift License – desirable
  • Heavy Rigid (HR) driver’s license - desirable.
