Brunel have partnered with a leading International OEM to successfully recruit and place a suitably qualified Logistics Manager for a permanent position to support our Client’s Major Projects Portfolio.

The Logistics Manager will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all company logistics requirements. They are responsible for continually improving logistics structures and processes whilst ensuring standardisation and consistency in the logistics of materials both internationally and domestically, using the supply chain structures and processes to capture enhanced efficiency in the distribution of goods to end users.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain Management, the Logistics Manager will lead the detailed management of all critical and non-critical freight, from source to end users, in a safe, efficient and effective manner. The Logistics Manager is to lead the project logistic requirements for international and domestic freight for all sites.

  • Manage and coordinate all freight movements - this covers all project sites.
  • Arrange for transport, using a variety of modes, such as marine, air, or roadways, to minimise environmental impacts and meet project timelines.
  • Provide logistical support to projects and departments when the transportation, or quote for transportation of equipment, is needed.
  • Ensure project and company transportation of equipment follows the guidelines set forth by the regulatory authorities and established heavy vehicle standards and legislation.
  • Ensure that proper permits are obtained and regulations are followed for all land-based transportation.
  • Verify adherence of documentation to customs, quarantine, insurance, or regulatory requirements.
  • Recommend shipping solutions to minimize costs or environmental impacts.
  • Select shipment routes, based on nature of goods shipped, transit times, or security needs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations, or other factors that could affect freight shipping.
  • Inform business partners of factors such as shipping options, timelines, transfers, or regulations affecting shipments.
  • Ensure documentation is maintained to facilitate payment of freight or other charges.
  • Encourage teamwork through communication, leadership and direction to the workforce to ensure work is conducted safely and responsibly.
  • Responsible for absenteeism management of direct reports and the approvals of timesheets and leave requests.
  • Identify and report nonconforming or potentially hazardous systems, work practices, products, services, equipment and places.

  • 5-10 years of experience in a Logistics role.
  • Construction Industry experience (preferred, but not essential).
  • Competent in ERP systems – SAP, Oracle, and Web Based products.
  • Project Management experience is required
  • Familiar with applicable legislations and work practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of international shipping documentation
  • Advanced knowledge of International Customs and international shipping procedures.
  • Experience using 3PL providers, couriers and freight forwarders.
  • Proven track record of providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating strong attention to detail.
  • Possess ability to collect data, craft presentations, and conduct analysis
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literacy – experience in utilising Microsoft Office particularly Word and Outlook
